Description

Altronix ACM81F Power Distribution Module

Overview

The Altronix ACM81F is a compact power distribution module designed to efficiently distribute regulated DC power to up to eight individual devices. It solves the problem of managing multiple power feeds for low-voltage equipment in a single, organized unit. This module is particularly useful in access control systems, surveillance camera installations, and other low-voltage applications where reliable, fused power output is required for multiple components. The ACM81F model specifically provides 8 fused outputs, each rated for 1 Amp, from a single power input. This allows for granular protection and isolation of individual devices, preventing a fault in one component from affecting others.

Compatibility

This module is designed to accept a single DC input voltage (12VDC or 24VDC) and distribute it across its eight outputs. It is compatible with a wide range of low-voltage security and access control devices that require individual fused protection, including: standard IP cameras, IR illuminators, electric strikes, maglocks, and card readers. It is suitable for use with Altronix power supplies and other regulated DC power sources within the specified voltage and current limits. It is not designed for direct integration with network switches or PoE-powered devices that do not have a separate DC input.

Installation Notes

The ACM81F requires a regulated DC input voltage (12VDC or 24VDC) from a suitable power supply. Each of the eight outputs features a 1A resettable fuse (PTC) for overcurrent protection. Wiring should be performed using appropriate gauge wire for the expected current draw per output and the distance from the power source. Ensure proper polarity is maintained for all connections. The module is designed for indoor use and should be mounted in a clean, dry environment, typically within an enclosure or cabinet.
