The Altronix NETWAYSP8LPL is a managed 8-port PoE+ media converter designed to extend network reach and power devices over fiber optic cable. This unit is ideal for surveillance deployments where cameras are located beyond standard Ethernet cable length limitations, or in environments requiring robust power delivery and network segmentation. It integrates power supply, battery backup, and network conversion into a single rack-mountable chassis, simplifying installation and reducing footprint.
Compatibility
This media converter is compatible with standard IP cameras, access control systems, and other network devices requiring PoE+ (802.3at) power. The two SFP ports allow for connection to various fiber optic transceivers (sold separately) to support different fiber types (multimode or singlemode) and distances. It functions as a standard network switch and PoE injector, compatible with any ONVIF-compliant IP camera or device.
Installation Notes
The NETWAYSP8LPL requires a 110V-240V AC input for its internal power supply. It supports up to 30W per port for PoE+ devices, with a total power budget of 120W. Battery backup requires two (2) 12V/7Ah sealed lead acid batteries (sold separately). The unit is designed for rack mounting using the included brackets.
