The Altronix NETWAYSP8PLN is an 8-port Ethernet to fiber media converter designed to extend network connectivity for IP surveillance systems over long distances. It features 8 x 10/100Base-T Ethernet ports and 2 x 1Gb SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) ports, enabling seamless integration into existing network infrastructure where standard Ethernet cable runs are insufficient. This unit is ideal for connecting remote cameras or network segments back to a central NVR or VMS without signal degradation.

Compatibility

This media converter is compatible with any standard IP camera, NVR, or network switch that utilizes 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet and SFP modules. It functions as a transparent network device, supporting ONVIF-compliant cameras and systems. The 2 x 1Gb SFP ports require separately purchased SFP transceivers (e.g., single-mode or multi-mode fiber transceivers) to establish the fiber optic link, allowing for compatibility with various fiber types and distances.

Installation Notes

The NETWAYSP8PLN requires a 12VDC to 48VDC power input, which is not included. It is designed for rack-mount installation using the included mounting brackets. Ensure that the selected SFP transceivers match the fiber type and distance requirements of your deployment. The unit operates within a temperature range of 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F).
