Description

ATEN CL5708IN 8-Port Rack LCD Integrated KVM Switch with IP Remote Access

Overview

The ATEN CL5708IN is an 8-port rack-mounted LCD KVM switch with integrated IP remote access, designed for data center and server room environments where local console access and out-of-band remote management need to coexist in a single 1U form factor. The CL5708IN supports both PS/2 and USB server connections, eliminating the need to standardize your server fleet on a single interface type before deployment. Universal 100–240 VAC input via IEC 60320/C14 connector means it drops into any rack environment without a power adapter.

Compatibility

Connects to servers and KVM-capable devices using PS/2 or USB keyboard/mouse interfaces — compatible with virtually any x86 server, workstation, or KVM-ready appliance manufactured in the past two decades. Supports daisy-chaining up to 128 ports total across compatible ATEN CL/CS-series KVM switches, making it a practical anchor unit for mid-size to large server deployments where a single 8-port front-end is not sufficient. Port selection via OSD, hotkey, or front-panel pushbutton gives operators flexibility whether they are working locally at the rack or navigating through the IP remote interface. Scan interval is configurable from 1 to 255 seconds — useful when monitoring multiple servers sequentially from a single console session.

Installation Notes

Rack-mount installation uses standard 19-inch rails. LCD display brightness is fixed at 250 cd/m² and adjusted via 4 front-panel pushbuttons — no software brightness control. Operating humidity ceiling is 80% RH non-condensing; avoid installations in unconditioned spaces or near CRAC units with condensation risk. Firmware is field-upgradeable; current release is v2.2.216 (2026-05-05). PS/2 and USB cabling to servers is not included — verify cable type per server before installation.
