Overview

The Middle Atlantic RK6 is a 6-rack-unit, knockdown-style open frame rack built from wood with a black wood grain laminate finish. At 10.5 in. of usable height and 15.41 in. of usable depth, the RK6 suits compact AV and security equipment installations — think small NVR deployments, patch panels, and edge network gear in conference rooms, retail back offices, or low-profile closet builds where a full-height rack would be overkill. The knockdown construction means it ships flat and assembles on-site, which matters in finished spaces where maneuvering a pre-assembled steel rack through doorways is impractical. The 200 lb rated weight capacity handles dense loading for its size class, so stacking a NVR, PoE switch, and UPS in the same 6U enclosure is within spec.

Compatibility

The RK6 uses standard 10-32 threaded rack rails, which are compatible with the vast majority of 19-inch rackmount security and network equipment — including 1U and 2U NVRs from Hanwha, Axis, Hikvision, and i-PRO; 1U managed PoE switches from Ubiquiti, Cisco, and Netgear; and 1U UPS units commonly paired with small network video recorder builds. The 15.41 in. usable depth accommodates most 1U shallow-depth appliances. Verify equipment depth before ordering — rack-mount gear exceeding 15 in. will not seat correctly. This rack is not designed for half-rack or center-mount applications; standard 19-inch EIA-310 equipment only. Installation Notes

The RK6 ships as a knockdown kit at 25 lbs — assembly requires no special tooling beyond basic hand tools. The wood construction means this rack is not suitable for environments with high humidity, direct moisture exposure, or temperature cycling that could cause warping. Plan cable management externally; the open frame design provides no integrated cable channels. The 10-32 rail accepts standard rack screws and cage nuts. For installations where equipment vibration or seismic compliance is a factor, verify the wood frame meets your local code requirements — steel racks are the standard for those applications.
