Overview

The ACTi B57 is a 6MP hemispheric dome designed for indoor deployments requiring 360-degree coverage with on-camera analytics. The 1/1.8-inch progressive-scan CMOS sensor captures full 6MP resolution at up to 20 fps (3072×2048) or 30 fps at lower resolutions (1024×768, 800×600, 640×480). The fixed f1.3mm lens delivers 203.5° horizontal field of view in fisheye mode, plus dewarped and ePTZ view options for flexible display. Built-in 850nm infrared LEDs (12× array) reach 20 meters and enable operation down to 0.003 lux in total darkness—meaning reliable color video in extremely dim retail backrooms, corridors, or night-mode monitoring without separate lighting. WDR processing (130dB) preserves detail in mixed-light scenes (interior near windows, uneven ceiling lights) without HDR halo artifacts. The B57 runs video analytics on-board: Video Motion Detection (VMD) triggers alarms instantly, and People Counting quantifies occupancy and traffic patterns in real time, reducing server load and enabling local decision-making. H.264 (Baseline/Main/High) and MJPEG compression support flexible streaming—H.264 conserves bandwidth for 24/7 recording; MJPEG suits high-motion or forensic playback scenarios. Built-in 2-way audio (microphone, mic-in, line-in, line-out) supports verification and two-way communication. Powered via PoE+ (802.3at Class 3) over a single RJ-45 cable, eliminating separate power runs. Operating range is −10°C to 50°C, suitable for temperature-controlled indoor spaces. ONVIF Profile S, G, and T (Q via future firmware) ensure vendor-neutral VMS integration.

Compatibility

The B57 integrates with any ONVIF-compliant video management system supporting ONVIF Profile S (minimum), including Milestone XProtect, Axis Camera Station, and third-party NVRs. PoE+ injectors or managed PoE+ switches (802.3at Class 3 minimum, 60W budget per port) supply power and data. Manual GPS tagging supports geographic labeling in multi-site deployments. Multiple mounting accessories (wall, pole, pendant, corner, rack) enable flexible placement without vendor lock-in.
