Description

Middle Atlantic RSHA-SONOS-AMP6 5RU Rack Shelf for 6 Sonos Amplifiers

Overview

The RSHA-SONOS-AMP6 is a purpose-built 5RU steel rack shelf from Middle Atlantic that houses up to six Sonos Amp units in a standard 19-inch equipment rack. The shelf solves a common AV-over-IP installation problem: Sonos Amps are consumer-profile components with no built-in rack ears, yet commercial and residential integration projects routinely need them consolidated into a single rack bay alongside control systems, PoE switches, and network gear. At 14.22 inches deep and rated for 35 lbs of load, the shelf accommodates a full complement of six amps with headroom to spare — no improvised mounting, no loose units on a utility shelf.

Compatibility

Designed specifically for the Middle Atlantic RSH Manufacturer Alliance bundle line and sized for the Sonos Amp (current generation). The shelf mounts in any standard 19-inch equipment rack accepting 5RU accessories. It is not interchangeable with shelves sized for the legacy Sonos Connect:Amp or other Sonos components — verify unit dimensions before ordering if deploying mixed Sonos hardware generations. The 19-inch width and industry-standard rack-unit height make it compatible with Middle Atlantic's own rack enclosures as well as third-party open-frame and enclosed racks conforming to EIA-310 spacing.

Installation Notes

The shelf ships at 10 lbs and occupies exactly 5RU of rack space — plan your rack layout before ordering, as six Sonos Amps plus cabling in a 5RU bay leaves no slack for last-minute additions. Steel construction keeps the shelf rigid under the 35 lb weight capacity; distribute amp placement evenly to avoid cantilever stress on the front rail attachment points. Route power and audio/network cabling through the rear of the rack before loading units — rear access becomes restricted once all six amps are seated. Patents: www.legrandav.com/patents.
