The Geovision 84-APOE48W-301U is a 48-port gigabit PoE+ switch purpose-built for large-scale IP camera deployments. It delivers 802.3at PoE+ power across all 48 ports while maintaining full 1 Gbps throughput on each port — a critical capability when you're powering dozens of cameras simultaneously without choking bandwidth or starving devices mid-stream. The six 10GE SFP+ uplink ports provide high-speed backbone connectivity to your core network infrastructure, eliminating the bottleneck that kills performance when multiple gigabit ports funnel traffic through a single 1GbE link. Web-based management handles configuration, monitoring, and port-level troubleshooting without requiring a separate management appliance.
This switch powers any standard PoE+ or PoE device: IP cameras, access control readers, wireless access points, and IP intercoms rated for 802.3at or lower power draw. Gigabit Ethernet ports accept any standard RJ-45 camera or network device. 10GE SFP+ uplinks connect to core switches, NVRs, or redundant network segments using compatible SFP+ transceivers (not included). No driver installation needed — deploy straight out of the box to any existing network switch infrastructure or as a primary aggregation point for camera groups spanning multiple building zones.
Mount in a standard 19-inch rack or place on a shelf with proper ventilation — overheating kills uptime on PoE switches. Verify your power feed supports the total PoE wattage draw of all connected cameras before installation (48 ports × max draw per port). Use standard Ethernet cabling (Cat5e minimum; Cat6 or Cat6A recommended for cleaner signal margins on runs over 200 feet). The web management interface is accessible via DHCP or static IP assignment — configure it immediately after power-on to lock down access control and VLAN segmentation if your camera groups span security zones.
