The Signamax 48458MD-C5E is a 48-port, Category 5e unshielded patch panel designed for structured cabling deployments. It occupies 2 Rack Units (RMU) of vertical space in standard 19-inch racks, making it suitable for network closets and data centers where efficient space utilization is critical. This panel provides a centralized termination point for horizontal Cat5e cabling, simplifying network management and troubleshooting.
Compatibility
This patch panel is designed to terminate standard Cat5e UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cabling. It is compatible with any standard 19-inch rack or wall-mount enclosure. The IDC (Insulation Displacement Connector) termination blocks accept 22-26 AWG solid conductor cable, common in commercial network installations. It is suitable for use with any network switch or router that supports standard RJ45 Ethernet connections.
Installation Notes
Termination of individual Cat5e cables onto the rear punch-down blocks requires a standard 110-type punch-down tool. Ensure proper cable management on both the front (patch cord side) and rear (horizontal cabling side) to maintain signal integrity and airflow. The panel is designed for rack mounting using standard M6 screws (not included).
