Description

QNAP RAM-32GDR4ECT0-RD-3200 32GB DDR4-3200 ECC Registered DIMM

Overview

The RAM-32GDR4ECT0-RD-3200 is a 32GB DDR4-3200 ECC Registered DIMM (R-DIMM) in a 288-pin form factor, designed to expand memory capacity in compatible QNAP NAS and server platforms. Registered DIMMs use an additional register between the DRAM modules and the memory controller, which reduces electrical load on the memory bus — this matters when you are populating multiple DIMMs in a system and need stable long-run operation in 24/7 NAS environments. The ECC (Error-Correcting Code) layer detects and corrects single-bit memory errors on the fly, reducing the risk of silent data corruption in storage-heavy workloads. If you are running a QNAP platform that supports RDIMM population but need unregistered DIMM support, see the companion QNAP NAS accessories line for the ECC U-DIMM variant (RAM-32GDR4ECT0-UD-3200).

Compatibility

This module is designed for QNAP NAS and server platforms that explicitly support DDR4-3200 ECC R-DIMM memory. R-DIMM and U-DIMM slots are not interchangeable — confirm your chassis accepts registered DIMMs before ordering. QNAP publishes a compatibility list on the accessory product page; cross-check your specific model against that list to verify slot support, maximum per-slot capacity, and total channel configuration. Platforms supporting RDIMM typically include QNAP's higher-end enterprise NAS and server-grade units in the QNAP NAS catalog. For general network-attached storage memory planning, matching DIMM type, speed, and ECC tier to the controller specification is the deciding factor — mismatched modules will either not POST or will run at a reduced clock.

Installation Notes

Install into a DDR4 288-pin RDIMM slot only. DDR4 is keyed and will not physically seat in DDR3 slots. For multi-channel configurations, consult your platform's memory population guide — channel pairing rules and slot sequencing affect whether the system runs in single, dual, or quad-channel mode, which directly impacts memory bandwidth available to NAS workloads. Power down and discharge static before handling. No tools required for standard DIMM installation; chassis access requirements vary by NAS model.
