Description

Altronix VR3TM14 24VDC to 14VDC Converter

Overview

The Altronix VR3TM14 is a compact DC-to-DC converter designed to step down a 24VDC input to a stable 14VDC output at 2 Amps. This is critical for powering sensitive low-voltage surveillance devices, such as IP cameras or network switches, that require a precise 14VDC supply but are connected to a 24VDC power source. Its terminal block interface simplifies integration into existing power distribution systems, making it suitable for rack-mounted or cabinet installations where space is at a premium.

Compatibility

This converter is designed for use with any system providing a stable 24VDC input. It is commonly deployed to power specific models of IP cameras, network video recorders (NVRs), or PoE switches that have a 14VDC input requirement and draw up to 2 Amps. It is not compatible with AC input power sources. Verify your device's power input specifications before deployment.

Installation Notes

Ensure the 24VDC input source can supply sufficient current for the converter and the connected load. Connect the 24VDC input to the designated terminals, observing polarity. Connect the 14VDC output to the load, again observing polarity. The VR3TM14 is rated for operation within a temperature range of 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F). Use appropriate gauge wiring for the current draw to prevent voltage drop and ensure reliable operation.
