Description

CyberPower PR2000RT2UC 2000VA 2U Rack Line-Interactive Sine Wave UPS

Overview

The CyberPower PR2000RT2UC is a 2000VA/2000W line-interactive rack UPS delivering pure sine wave output in a compact 2U rackmount form factor. Designed for server rooms, network closets, and power protection deployments where clean, conditioned power matters, this unit handles the full 120V North American power environment — tolerating input swings from 75V to 149V before engaging battery, which significantly extends battery life compared to units with narrower voltage windows. If you're protecting NVRs, managed switches, edge compute hardware, or sensitive network gear, the PR2000RT2UC belongs on your short list.

Key Features

  • Pure Sine Wave Output: Unlike simulated sine (stepped approximation) UPS units, the PR2000RT2UC produces true sine wave power on battery. Active PFC power supplies found in modern servers, NVRs, and network appliances require sine wave input to operate correctly — simulated sine can cause shutdowns or hardware damage on sensitive loads. This matters every time the battery kicks in.
  • 2000VA / 2000W at Unity Power Factor: With a power factor of 1.0, the VA and watt ratings are identical — no derating math needed. What you see is what you get: 2000W of usable load capacity. Size your protected equipment accordingly and you won't hit a hidden ceiling.
  • Wide Input Voltage Window (75V–149V): The unit rides through voltage sags and swells across a 74-volt range before switching to battery. In environments with inconsistent utility power — older commercial buildings, warehouses, remote facilities — this range keeps the battery in reserve for actual outages rather than burning charge on routine line fluctuations.
  • 2430J Surge Energy Rating: Absorbs 2430 joules of surge energy, providing meaningful protection for connected equipment against transient spikes. The integrated EMI/RFI noise filtering further conditions the output, which matters when you're protecting analog-to-digital converters or precision timing hardware.
  • 6ms Transfer Time: The 6-millisecond switchover from line to battery is fast enough that most active PFC server power supplies and double-conversion inline devices won't even register the transition. Line-interactive topology at this transfer speed covers the vast majority of rack IT and security hardware without issue.
  • 8x NEMA 5-20R Outlets with 10-Foot Input Cord: Eight 5-20R receptacles provide flexibility to mix standard 5-15P and 5-20P plugs. The 10-foot input cord gives you real reach to a PDU or wall circuit without an extension cord — a practical detail in tight rack environments.
  • 55.5 dB Noise Level: Audible, but not disruptive — comparable to a quiet office printer. In a dedicated server room this is unremarkable; in an open office or lobby IDF closet, factor it into your site planning. The audible alarm engages on fault conditions, which is useful for unmonitored locations.
  • Cloud Monitoring Capability: The
