Overview

The VTP-2 is a 2U (3.5 in.) flanged vented filler panel from Middle Atlantic's rack accessory line designed to fill unused rack space while allowing passive airflow through equipment enclosures. At 20% open area, it provides meaningful ventilation in standard 19-inch rack panel bays without requiring active airflow management — a practical choice for densely populated AV and security equipment racks where heat buildup in empty bays accelerates component wear. The black brushed anodized finish matches standard Middle Atlantic rack aesthetics. Panel depth is just 0.51 in., so it adds negligible depth inside shallow enclosures.

Compatibility

Fits any standard EIA 19-inch rack with 2U of open bay space — including Middle Atlantic rack enclosures (RK, ERK, and BGR series), as well as third-party 19-inch equipment racks. The flanged mounting style uses 2 mounting points, compatible with standard 10-32 or 12-24 rack rail hardware. Useful in network and PoE switch installations where a mix of 1U and 2U devices leaves partial-unit gaps that should be closed for airflow management. Also applicable in NVR and server rack builds where network video recorder chassis leave open space above or below that needs to be sealed with ventilation rather than a solid blank.
