Description

Middle Atlantic UD2 2U Rack Utility Drawer

Overview

The Middle Atlantic UD2 is a 2-rack-unit (3.5 in.) utility drawer built for equipment racks where you need accessible, lockable storage for cables, tools, patch panels, or loose hardware. At 15.85 in. deep and rated to 50 lbs UL load capacity, the UD2 handles real working weight — not just light documentation or spare cords. The black powder coat finish blends cleanly into standard 19 in. rack enclosures, and dual mounting points (2 RU) ensure stable front-rail attachment without flex under load.

Compatibility

The UD2 installs in any standard Middle Atlantic EIA-310 19 in. rack enclosure — including the BGR, BGR-S, WR, and SRS series open-frame and enclosed rack enclosures. It fits any third-party 19 in. rack conforming to the EIA-310 hole pattern. The 15.85 in. depth accommodates most shallow and mid-depth rack cabinets; verify your cabinet's usable interior depth before ordering if your cabinet is under 16 in. deep. The 19 in. width is standard rack-width — no adapter hardware needed for properly spec'd EIA racks. When planning a rack accessory layout, account for 2 RU of panel space and confirm your power distribution and patch gear leaves adjacent slots open.

Installation Notes

The UD2 mounts via 2 front-rail attachment points — standard cage nuts or #10-32 screws depending on your rack's rail type. Shipping weight is 15.7 lbs; install with a second person or a shelf support to avoid front-tipping during rail engagement. Do not exceed the 50 lb UL-rated load capacity — this rating covers static load only; dynamic or shock loads (rolling transport, seismic) require additional review.
