On the expansion side, this card connects to the QNAP TL-series PCIe Interface JBOD enclosures via the two SFF-8644 (Mini-SAS HD) ports — a 1x2 configuration that allows a single card to drive two JBOD links simultaneously, doubling the reachable expansion capacity from one slot. Installation Notes
Install the card into a PCIe Gen 3 x8 (or x16) slot — the card will not deliver full 64 Gb/s throughput in a narrower slot. Use standard SFF-8644 Mini-SAS HD cables (not included) to connect the card's two ports to the corresponding SFF-8644 receptacles on the TL-series JBOD. The NAS must be powered down during card installation. After first boot, QTS or QuTS hero should recognize the attached JBOD automatically — no third-party driver installation is required under supported firmware versions.
