Overview

The Middle Atlantic UMS1-11.5K is a 1 RU rack shelf designed for mounting non-rackmount equipment within a standard 19-inch equipment rack. Its 11.5-inch depth makes it suitable for housing smaller devices like network switches, modems, or compact surveillance components where dedicated rackmount chassis are not available or cost-effective. The shelf features a black finish to blend with standard rack environments and provides two mounting points for securing equipment.

Compatibility

This shelf is designed for use in standard 19-inch wide equipment racks. Its 1 RU height (1.75 inches) ensures compatibility with virtually any standard rack system. The 11.5-inch depth accommodates a wide range of compact AV and IT devices. It is suitable for mounting devices that do not have built-in rack ears, such as certain network switches, small form-factor PCs, or compact surveillance recorders.

Installation Notes

Mounting the UMS1-11.5K requires standard rack screws (not included) to secure it to the rack rails via its two mounting points. The shelf itself has a weight capacity of 25 lbs, sufficient for most compact electronic devices. Ensure the total weight of the mounted equipment does not exceed this limit. The shelf includes four partial blank panels that can be used to fill gaps and maintain airflow within the rack, preventing dust ingress and improving thermal management for adjacent equipment.
