Description

Altronix VERTILINE48MD Concise Descriptor

Overview

The Altronix VERTILINE48MD is a 1U rack-mountable power distribution unit designed to efficiently power multiple 48VDC surveillance devices from a single source. It features 16 PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) resettable fused outputs, each rated for 1.5A, providing individual protection against overcurrent conditions. This unit is ideal for centralized power management in rack-mounted surveillance systems, ensuring reliable operation and simplifying wiring in environments like data centers or head-end equipment racks.

Compatibility

This power distribution unit is designed for use with any 48VDC power source. Its 16 PTC outputs are suitable for powering a wide range of 48VDC devices, including many IP cameras, network switches, and other surveillance equipment that require a stable 48VDC input. It is particularly effective when paired with Altronix 48VDC power supplies or other compatible 48VDC sources to create a robust, scalable power infrastructure for your security deployment.

Installation Notes

The VERTILINE48MD requires a 48VDC input source. Each of the 16 outputs is protected by a PTC resettable fuse, limiting current to 1.5A per output. If an output trips due to overcurrent, the PTC will reset automatically once the fault is cleared. The unit is designed for standard 19-inch rack mounting. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit when installed in a rack to prevent overheating, especially when operating at or near its maximum capacity of 6.5A total output.
