Description

Altronix MAXIMAL3DV Concise Descriptor

Overview

The Altronix MAXIMAL3DV is a versatile power distribution unit designed to consolidate multiple low-voltage surveillance or access control devices into a single, manageable power source. It accepts 12VDC or 24VDC input and provides sixteen individually protected outputs, each featuring PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) resettable current limiting. This unit is ideal for installations requiring distributed power to cameras, sensors, or door controllers where precise current management per device is critical to prevent cascading failures.

Compatibility

This unit is compatible with any system requiring 12VDC or 24VDC power input and individual device current draw not exceeding the PTC rating. It is commonly deployed with IP cameras, access control readers, electronic locks, and other low-voltage security peripherals from various manufacturers, provided the voltage and current requirements align. The MAXIMAL3DV is designed to integrate into standard security system architectures.

Installation Notes

Input voltage must be specified as either 12VDC or 24VDC at the time of installation; the unit is not auto-sensing. Each of the 16 outputs is rated for a maximum of 2.5A, with a total system output current of 6A. The PTC devices are resettable; if an output trips due to overcurrent, remove the fault and the PTC will reset after a cool-down period. Ensure proper ventilation as the unit can generate heat under load.
