Description

Altronix MAXIMAL3RDV Concise Descriptor

Overview

The Altronix MAXIMAL3RDV is a versatile power distribution module designed to provide regulated 12VDC or 24VDC power to multiple surveillance devices. It features 16 individually protected PTC outputs, each capable of handling up to 2.5A, with a total system output of 6A. This unit is ideal for consolidating power for cameras, access control readers, or other low-voltage security equipment in a central location, simplifying wiring and management. The MAXIMAL3RDV accepts 220VAC input, making it suitable for international deployments or facilities with specific voltage requirements.

Compatibility

This power distribution unit is compatible with a wide range of low-voltage DC powered surveillance and security devices that require either 12VDC or 24VDC. It is designed to work with systems where individual outputs need current protection via PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) resettable fuses, preventing overloads from affecting the entire system. Specific compatibility extends to devices requiring up to 2.5A per output, provided the total system draw does not exceed 6A. It is commonly integrated into systems utilizing IP cameras, video encoders, access control panels, and intercoms that operate within these voltage and current parameters.

Installation Notes

The MAXIMAL3RDV requires a 220VAC input connection. Each of the 16 PTC outputs can be configured for either 12VDC or 24VDC operation via a jumper setting, allowing for mixed voltage deployments. The PTC protection trips at approximately 2.5A, requiring a manual reset after an overload condition is cleared. Ensure the total current draw from all outputs does not exceed the unit's 6A maximum capacity to prevent system shutdown. Proper ventilation is recommended, as continuous operation at higher loads may generate heat.
