Overview

The ATEN PE8216G is a metered rack power distribution unit designed for data center and server room deployments where per-outlet power visibility matters. This 16-outlet ecoPDU handles input from 100VAC to 250VAC, making it suitable for mixed-voltage rack environments. Metering accuracy is tight — voltage within ±1%, power within ±2% of reading up to maximum capacity, and current within ±0.1A at low draw (0.1–1A) or ±1% from 1A to 20A — giving operators actual data to act on rather than guesswork. The included 3m power cord provides enough slack for most rear-of-rack cable management runs without an extension.

Compatibility

The PE8216G integrates with ATEN's PMonitor management software (Windows v1.0.065 and Linux v1.1.107), enabling centralized power monitoring across ecoPDU units in the rack. Network management is supported via SNMP, with Telnet access also documented in the ecoPDU Telnet Guide. The unit is compatible with standard 19-inch rack enclosures using rack-mount hardware. Firmware is field-upgradeable — current release v1.0.067 (2026-02-09) applies to the PE-7/8/9 family, which includes this unit.

Installation Notes

Mount orientation follows ATEN's rack-product convention where physical dimensions are expressed as L×W×H rather than the more common W×D×H — confirm rack unit clearance against the product datasheet before ordering. Operating humidity ceiling is 80% RH non-condensing; avoid installations near HVAC discharge points or uncontrolled ambient moisture. Safety certifications include TUV-CB and CE-LVD; additional certifications are available by request for deployments requiring regional compliance documentation.
