Overview

The Middle Atlantic CFR-11-20 is an 11U open-frame rack chassis designed for in-cabinet installation where depth is constrained and a full-height enclosure isn't warranted. Built from steel with a flat black powder coat finish, it delivers a 250 lb UL-listed load capacity in a 20-inch usable depth — sufficient for mid-depth NVRs, network switches, patch panels, and UPS or power distribution units typical in security head-end closets. The CFR-11-20 ships factory-new and is TAA-compliant, making it eligible for US federal and government-adjacent deployments where country-of-origin matters. Manufactured in the USA.

Compatibility

The CFR-11-20 uses standard 10-32 threaded rack rails, accepting any rackmount equipment built to EIA-310 19-inch rack standards — this covers the broad Middle Atlantic rack enclosure and accessories line as well as third-party 1U through 11U rackmount devices. At 19.25 inches wide and 20 inches usable depth, it fits equipment up to approximately 18–19 inches deep with proper cable clearance. Shallow 1U switches, 2U NVRs, and wall-box or on-wall enclosure builds are the primary fit. Verify your deepest chassis doesn't exceed the 20-inch usable depth before ordering — no rear door means cable egress is unrestricted, but rear rail-to-wall clearance must be planned at install.

Installation Notes

At 18.5 lbs product weight (24 lbs shipped), the CFR-11-20 is a single-person lift for most installations. The 10-32 rail system requires standard 10-32 cage nuts and screws — confirm your rack accessories kit includes these if not already on hand. The frame mounts inside a host cabinet or enclosure rather than standalone; verify your enclosure's internal width and depth accommodate the 19.25 × 20.19-inch frame footprint. UL listing covers the 250 lb static load rating — distribute load evenly across rail pairs and avoid cantilevering heavy equipment without rail support on both sides.
