Description

Middle Atlantic EWR-10-22 10U Economical Pivoting Wall Rack

Overview

The Middle Atlantic EWR-10-22 is a 10-space (10 RU) open-frame wall rack built for wiring closets, back-of-rack AV installations, and security equipment rooms where floor space is tight and swing-out access matters. This unit ships with a black wrinkle powder coat finish, no front door, and a 22 in (55.9 cm) overall depth — giving you 20 in (50.8 cm) of usable depth, enough to seat most 1U switches, patch panels, NVRs, and access control enclosures without forcing equipment to overhang the rail. At 10 RU of usable height (17.5 in / 44.5 cm), the EWR-10-22 is sized for compact head-end buildouts: a 4-8 channel NVR, a PoE switch, a power supply, and a patch panel will fill it cleanly. UL-rated load capacity is 150 lbs (68 kg) — enough margin for a populated rack without engineering review on most light commercial installs. TAA-compliant sourcing makes it eligible for federal and government-adjacent deployments where country-of-origin documentation is required.

Compatibility

The EWR-10-22 uses standard 10-32 threaded rack rails, compatible with the full range of 19-inch rackmount equipment: PoE network switches, 1U and 2U network video recorders, patch panels, UPS units, and access control panels from any vendor shipping standard EIA-310 form factors. Middle Atlantic's own rack-mount accessories — brush panels, blanks, and power strips — mount directly without adapter hardware. The open-frame design without a front door accommodates deep 2U equipment that would conflict with door clearance in enclosed cabinets. For deployments requiring a front door or side panels, cross-reference other models in the Middle Atlantic rack enclosure line. This unit is not suitable for outdoor or high-humidity environments — it carries no IP rating and is intended for conditioned interior spaces only.

Installation Notes

Wall mounting requires a structural anchor point rated for the combined weight of the rack plus equipment load — plan for the full 150 lb UL capacity plus the 66 lb (29.9 kg) rack weight when selecting fasteners and wall backing. The pivot/swing-out mechanism means the installation footprint when open extends beyond the 22 in rack depth; confirm clearance from adjacent walls or conduit runs before mounting. With 10-32 rail threads, use standard 10-32 cage nuts and rack screws — M6 hardware is not compatible. No front door means cable management and airflow are installer-managed; factor in velcro tie routing and horizontal managers if the rack will carry dense patch cabling. For structured cabling guidance, see our cable management accessories category.
