Description

Middle Atlantic 817B 1-Gang Carpet & Tile Floor Box Flange

Overview

The Middle Atlantic 817B is a single-gang rectangular brass flange designed for the OmniBox concrete floor box system. It provides a finished, flush-mount interface where low-voltage cabling — AV, data, or security — terminates at floor level in commercial spaces with carpet or tile finishes. At 0.75 in. tall, the 817B sits nearly flush with finished flooring, eliminating trip hazards while keeping connections accessible in open-plan offices, conference rooms, and security operations centers. The 817B pairs with OmniBox concrete-pour enclosures to complete the floor penetration assembly.

Compatibility

The 817B is engineered for Middle Atlantic's OmniBox one-gang rectangular concrete floor box series. It is specifically designed for carpet and tile finished floor installations where a low-profile brass flange is required. Verify the mating OmniBox enclosure depth and rough-in dimensions against the 817B's 5 in. width × 6 in. depth footprint before ordering — this flange is not interchangeable with round or two-gang OmniBox variants. Suitable for low-voltage device inserts compatible with the one-gang rectangular format; confirm insert compatibility with the full Middle Atlantic OmniBox accessory lineup before specifying.

Installation Notes

The 817B measures 5 in. wide × 6 in. deep × 0.75 in. high (12.7 × 15.2 × 1.9 cm). The shallow 0.75 in. profile requires precise floor box placement during concrete pour so the flange seats flush once flooring is laid — any mismatch in pour depth will either recess the flange below finish grade or cause it to proud above, both of which compromise the flush seating. Install carpet or tile up to the flange perimeter before setting the cover plate and inserts. TAA compliance is not applicable to this component. For complete floor box rough-in guidance, consult the OmniBox installation documentation supplied with the enclosure.
