Description

Viking Electronics K-1705-BN-IP VoIP Entry Phone with Keypad and Color Camera

Overview

The K-1705-BN-IP is a SIP-based VoIP entry phone finished in oil rubbed bronze, built for commercial and multi-tenant entry points where vandal resistance and all-weather operation are non-negotiable. The faceplate is 14-gauge louvered 316 stainless steel with laser-etched graphics and scratch-resistant powder coating — materials chosen to outlast painted aluminum in high-contact, high-abuse lobbies and parking structures. The unit integrates a keypad, analog color video camera, and a 26-bit Wiegand card reader input into a single flush-mount assembly, eliminating the need for separate reader hardware at the door. It ships with a rough-in box for flush installation; surface mount requires an optional VE-6x7 enclosure (sold separately).

Compatibility

Connects to any SIP 2.0 (RFC3261) compliant IP PBX or hosted VoIP platform. The 26-bit Wiegand output pairs directly with the Viking ES-1 door controller, Viking C-4000 controller, or any third-party access control panel that accepts standard 26-bit Wiegand — no protocol adapter required. Supports up to 250 programmable directory numbers and 1,000 keyless entry codes, making it suitable for mid-size multi-tenant residential or commercial deployments. Two sets of SPDT relay contacts (2A each) allow direct integration with electric strikes or magnetic locks without an intermediate relay board. Audio interoperability covers G.711u, G.711a, and G.722 codecs, compatible with mainstream SIP endpoints and soft clients.

Installation Notes

Powered by PoE Class 2 (under 6.5W), so any 802.3af-capable switch port handles it — no local power wiring needed. Network connection is via RJ45 10/100BASE-T; the unit ships with 14 gel-filled butt connectors for weatherproof field splices. Operating range is -40°F to 140°F with humidity tolerance to 100% (EWP rating), and the switch mechanism carries an independent IP67 seal. The faceplate assembly meets IP66 for rain and dust ingress. Overall installed dimensions are 5.5
