Overview

The Unitech AS10-P is a wired 1D linear imager barcode scanner built for point-of-sale, inventory management, and warehouse workflows where keyboard wedge or direct serial integration matters more than wireless convenience. It decodes 16 standard 1D symbologies (Code 128, Code 39, UPC, EAN, CODABAR, Interleave 2 of 5, and others) at 100 scans per second across a 2.375-inch depth of field. The compact 7 × 3 × 2.4-inch form factor fits tight checkout counters and warehouse terminals without occupying desk real estate. The AS10-P connects via USB HID (keyboard mode) or RS-232 serial—mutually exclusive at deployment. No pairing, no batteries, no wireless configuration overhead.

Compatibility

The AS10-P works with any host system accepting USB HID keyboard input or RS-232 serial: point-of-sale terminals, Windows/Linux/DOS PCs, legacy industrial equipment, and custom integrations. Verify your terminal's USB or serial port availability before ordering—this scanner does not support both simultaneously. Keyboard wedge mode treats barcode data as keyboard input (no driver required on most systems). RS-232 mode demands a serial port and appropriate terminal software or integration API.

Installation Notes

Power consumption is 80mA at 5VDC—USB provides power directly; RS-232 configurations require an external 5V supply. Operating temperature range is 0°C to 50°C; storage range is −20°C to 70°C. Do not expose the scanner to condensation above 95% relative humidity. The AS10-P survives 4-foot mechanical shock to hard surfaces. Audio beeper confirms successful scans; there are no visual indicator lights on this model. Ambient light tolerance is 5000 lux maximum.
