This model integrates directly into managed UniFi security infrastructure—no separate management appliance, no proprietary cloud dependency. It operates over standard Gigabit Ethernet (1000Base-T) PoE, delivering 4K video streams alongside real-time analytics without straining controller bandwidth. The fixed focal length (17 mm or 45 mm lens options) suits predetermined viewing angles: corridors, entry points, perimeter zones, and monitored facilities where zoom capability is not required.
Compatibility
The UVC-AI-DSLR-LD is purpose-built for UniFi Protect environments. It requires a UniFi Protect controller or cloud gateway for policy enforcement, video recording, and threat detection. It integrates seamlessly with existing UniFi network switches delivering PoE (verify your switch's PoE budget against the camera's draw). It is NOT compatible with standalone or third-party VMS platforms—if your infrastructure uses non-Ubiquiti management systems, this camera is not the fit.
Installation Notes
The bullet form factor mounts via standard bracket hardware to walls, eaves, or corner installations. Indoor/outdoor rating means it tolerates direct rain and dust in perimeter deployments. Verify Gigabit PoE switch availability before ordering—this camera draws full PoE power and requires 802.3at (PoE+) or higher to operate reliably. No separate power supply needed if your switch meets the budget. Configure optical focus (17 mm or 45 mm) before final mounting—focal length is fixed per unit and cannot be swapped in the field.
