Overview

The UACC-AOC-SFP28-10M is a 10-meter active optical cable (AOC) terminated with SFP28 connectors, designed for 25 Gigabit Ethernet links in data center and enterprise backbone deployments. Unlike passive direct attach cables, the active circuitry in this cable extends reach to 10 meters without requiring external transceivers or optical modules — eliminating a layer of hardware complexity and cost when you need to span longer distances between switches, routers, or servers than short copper DACs allow.

Compatibility

The UACC-AOC-SFP28-10M works with Ubiquiti UniFi switches and any network equipment with 25GBase SFP28 ports. Verify that both endpoints support 25GBase-SR4 or equivalent optical signaling before deploying. The aqua jacket aids visual identification in dense fiber racks.

Installation Notes

Handle connectors carefully to avoid dust ingress on the ferrule — a single fiber scratched or contaminated with dust can degrade signal integrity. Keep cable bend radius ≥2.5 inches (63mm) during routing to prevent optical signal loss. Do not exceed the 10-meter specification; running longer distances requires higher-cost 100m+ optical cables with external transponders.
