Description

Ubiquiti UACC-AOC-QSFP28-20M 100G Active Optical Cable

Overview

The Ubiquiti UACC-AOC-QSFP28-20M is a 20-meter active optical direct attach cable engineered for 100 Gbps interconnects in data center and campus network environments. Unlike passive copper DACs limited to 5–7 meters, active optical technology extends reach to 20 meters without signal regeneration — solving the intra-rack and cross-rack connectivity gap in medium-scale deployments where copper falls short or runs cost-prohibitive lengths.

Compatibility

This cable connects QSFP28 ports on Ubiquiti high-speed switches and compatible third-party equipment with QSFP28 transceiver slots. Verify port type and transceiver compatibility before ordering — QSFP28 is standard on modern 100G switching fabric, but legacy or mid-range equipment may use older connector types. The cable is passive-agnostic once inserted; no special drivers or firmware updates required.

Installation Notes

20 meters of optical fiber requires careful routing through cable trays and conduit to avoid pinch points, sharp bends, or crushing under weight. Minimum bend radius during installation is approximately 50–75mm (manufacturer-specific; refer to Ubiquiti installation guidance if available). Do not coil tighter than 200mm diameter during storage. Handle connectors with care to avoid dust contamination on QSFP28 pins — clean with isopropyl alcohol and lens tissue if required before insertion. Once seated, the cable should engage with a firm click; no force beyond hand pressure is needed.
