Overview

The Ubiquiti UA-SK-GATE is a compact networked gate access controller designed for single-gate or multi-door perimeter control deployments. This starter kit bundles a Gate Hub, intercom module, PoE++ power adapter, and 2-wire PoE extenders—everything needed to commission one primary gate entrance plus one secondary side door without a separate controller cabinet. The UA-SK-GATE (Model MPN) operates over standard Gigabit Ethernet and PoE++, reducing infrastructure dependencies: it draws just 22W idle and runs on PoE++ input (50V DC, 1A), so a single run of copper to an upstream switch powers the entire gate access point.

Compatibility

The UA-SK-GATE integrates with Ubiquiti UniFi Access management platform and works with any standard PoE++ network switch or injector that delivers 48–50V DC at 1A minimum. The kit supports up to 6,000 user credentials via NFC (Forum tags T1T–T5T) or credential database sync from UniFi Access. Relay outputs (two dry-contact, one powered 12V DC) accommodate electric locks, electromagnetic strikes, and gate operators rated up to 1A each. The recommended cable lengths depend on lock current draw: 25m (82 ft) for 400mA electric strikes with 24 AWG, up to 66m (217 ft) with 20 AWG; 20m (66 ft) for 500mA magnetic locks at 24 AWG, stretching to 51m (167 ft) with 20 AWG. The unit mounts on 35mm DIN-rail (included) and fits standard industrial electrical enclosures.

Installation Notes

The polycarbonate enclosure is rated IP65 and operates from −30 to +60°C, making it suitable for covered outdoor installations. For full outdoor exposure, enclose in a waterproof junction box. The unit accepts four digital inputs (gate exit request, gate position, side door exit request, side door position, emergency). All inputs are power-limited Class 2 PSU per UL 294; the device itself is rated UL 294 Level I for destructive attack, line security, endurance, and standby power—acceptable for commercial gate control. ESD protection (±8kV air, ±4kV contact) protects against typical outdoor transients. The single 10/100 MbE management port connects to your primary network for UniFi Access authentication and remote configuration.
