The SM5220-1M is a 1-meter (3.28 ft) SFP+ direct attach copper (DAC) cable designed for 10 Gigabit Ethernet connections over short distances. Direct attach cables eliminate the need for SFP+ transceivers, reducing cost and latency in network deployments where runs are under 10 meters. This model is purpose-built for network infrastructure installations where dense, short-haul connectivity between switches, servers, or storage arrays is required.
The SM5220-1M connects SFP+ ports directly and is compatible with TP-Link Omada managed switches and any standard-compliant SFP+ port hardware. Verify SFP+ port availability on your target switch or network appliance before purchase. For detailed port specifications on your equipment, consult the device datasheet.
Speed & Distance: 10 Gbps over 1 meter — suitable for top-of-rack, same-cabinet, or short cross-cabinet runs. At 1 meter, this cable eliminates performance overhead associated with transceiver pairs on longer distances.
Connector Type: SFP+ to SFP+ — both ends are identical, allowing flexible placement between source and destination ports.
Copper Construction: Direct attach design (passive cable, no active electronics) means no power consumption and lower total cost of ownership compared to active optical alternatives for short runs.
Insert connectors firmly into SFP+ ports until they seat with an audible click. The cable has no special routing requirements but should not be sharply bent or stressed at the connectors. Route away from high-temperature equipment and do not coil tightly. For warehouse automation, data center, or security infrastructure deployments, keep cable runs as straight as practicable to avoid signal reflections on short runs.
