System Sensor SCWHK Ceiling-Mount High Candela Strobe
Overview
The System Sensor SCWHK is a ceiling-mounted strobe accessory for fire alarm and life safety systems. This white unit operates at regulated 12VDC and mounts via a universal plate to standard back boxes, providing high-output visual notification across commercial and institutional spaces. The SCWHK solves the installation problem of adapting strobes to varied ceiling geometries and wiring configurations — the universal mounting plate eliminates costly custom fabrication, and onboard shorting springs let you test circuit continuity before final installation.
Compatibility
The SCWHK integrates with System Sensor SpectrAlert Advance fire alarm platforms and third-party fire alarm control panels supporting 12VDC strobe circuits. It is electrically compatible with legacy SpectrAlert devices, allowing retrofit into existing systems. Pair it with fire alarm notification appliance circuits (NAC) controlled by UL-listed fire alarm panels. The plug-in design requires no special back box modifications.
Installation Notes
Mount the SCWHK to any standard ceiling back box using the universal mounting plate. The onboard shorting spring provides continuity testing — press it to verify wiring before plugging the device in, reducing ground-fault callbacks. Strobe output is field-selectable via on-device dip switches to 15, 15/75, 30, 75, 95, 110, 115, 135, 150, 177, or 185 candela — choose the setting that meets your coverage distance and obstruction needs without over-powering adjacent areas. The unit accepts 12VDC regulated or full-wave rectified (FWR) input. Tamper-resistant construction is available. Minimal back-box intrusion (plug-in design) speeds installation and reduces risks of pinched wires or back-box crowding.
