STI STI-13500NB Enclosed Back Box Housing
The STI-13500NB is a Universal Stopper protective enclosure built as an enclosed back box without horn housing. It protects manual fire alarm stations, numeric keypads, intercom stations, emergency buttons, and electrical switches from vandalism, accidental damage, dust, and corrosive environments—both indoors and outdoors. This is the mounting variant where internal wiring and components sit protected within a sealed back box structure, not the open-back or surface-mount configurations.
Overview
Rated for 24VDC operation, the STI-13500NB houses intercom and access control equipment in commercial building entry, gate access, and perimeter communication applications. The polycarbonate cover is UV-stabilized to resist yellowing and degradation in outdoor sun exposure. The enclosure meets ADA low-profile requirements and fits most standard fire alarm station cutouts. A solid piano hinge provides durability under repeated opening cycles typical of maintenance and testing access.
Compatibility
The STI-13500NB integrates into Universal Stopper product families and systems requiring 24VDC powered devices. The enclosed back box design suits applications where protected internal wiring routing and component placement are mandatory—particularly in commercial security integrations where cable management and sealed conduit entry are part of the installation spec. Compatible with standard ¾-inch rigid conduit connections at the top and bottom of the waterproof enclosure.
Installation Notes
The enclosure features threaded conduit ports (¾-inch rigid) at top and bottom for waterproof installations. Mounting orientation supports both recessed (flush-mount into wall cavities) and surface-mounted configurations. Gaskets are included; no sealant substitutes are required. UV-stabilized polycarbonate remains transparent for label visibility. Optional 12–24VDC relay outlet accommodates external signaling or integration with building automation systems. A locking tab is available (not recommended for fire alarm stations per code).
