Overview
The STI SS2422EM-ES is a keyed push button station paired with a protective Stopper® Station Shield enclosure, designed for access control applications requiring manual override with key-based credential control. Operates on 30VDC and integrates a magnetic lock strike mechanism — the right choice when you need both automatic access control and authorized emergency or maintenance personnel to have a physical override path without cutting power or triggering an alarm bypass.
Compatibility
Works with 30VDC power supplies and magnetic lock strike systems. The SS2422EM-ES mounts using standard STI installation kits: KIT-102720 (12mm worldwide mounting plate, supplied standard with all button types) for flush installations on compatible wall boxes, or KIT-71100A (back box with 12mm spacer) for surface-mount deployments. Compatible with button types in the SS2xx2, SS2xx5, SS2xx6, SS2xx8, and SS2xx9 series when the appropriate mounting hardware is paired.
Installation Notes
Dimensions: 6.36 in. wide × 3.22 in. tall. Mounts 1.25 in. deep when anchors are not used (NEMA Type 23 rated enclosure). Installation requires 3/16 in. diameter pilot holes per the drilling template provided. The keyed shield mechanism allows authorized personnel to operate the button without removing power from the strike, enabling controlled access during emergencies or service calls. Confirm 30VDC supply capacity before installation — magnetic lock circuits can draw significant inrush current during strike energize cycles.
