Rated for indoor and outdoor use, this unit houses a piezo horn (9VDC battery-powered) and includes a spacer for accommodating larger or surface-mounted station designs. The clear shield provides visual access to the pull mechanism while the lift-to-break design maintains UL compliance. Deployments span schools, hospitals, nursing homes, retail facilities, and public buildings where false-alarm liability or operational disruption justifies protective coverage.

Compatibility

The STI-1155-FR accommodates most standard manual pull stations. For larger stations or surface-mounted installations, the optional STI-3100 conduit spacer extends the frame depth. The 9VDC battery power source (alkaline, included) is self-contained; no facility wiring required for the horn. Units are UL listed to U.S. and Canadian safety standards, enabling outdoor installation where local fire code permits. French-language labeling supports bilingual facility compliance in North American and European deployments.

Installation Notes

Mounting straightforward: position the frame around the existing pull station and secure per manufacturer template. Polycarbonate construction operates reliably between -40°F and 250°F (-40°C to 121°C), covering typical indoor HVAC ranges and unheated outdoor enclosures. Weather models incorporate closed-cell gaskets to seal against direct rain and humidity. Verify local fire code acceptance before outdoor installation; some jurisdictions require stations to remain unobstructed. The 9V battery (included) powers the piezo horn indefinitely unless the horn option is wired to remote power (available as separate configuration).
