The STI-1230NR is a tamperproof polycarbonate guard that retrofits over break-glass fire alarm call points to prevent accidental and malicious false alarms. This model includes a spacer and no integral horn — it's powered by 24VDC from your facility's control panel or fire alarm system, making it suitable for installations where you already have audible alarming in place or prefer to manage alerts centrally. The design has been field-proven for over 30 years in schools, hospitals, nursing homes, and public buildings with a history of false alarms.

The STI-1230NR fits flush or surface mounted break-glass call points. Its spacer design accommodates existing installations without modification to the underlying device. Compatible with any fire alarm control panel supplying 24VDC auxiliary power for the sounder circuit.

Installation Notes

Installation uses four simple fixings — no special tools required. The polycarbonate housing is rated for environmental extremes: –40°C to 49°C (–40°F to 120°F), so it handles both outdoor vestibules and unheated storage areas without brittleness or warping. Wire the 24VDC input to your panel's auxiliary alarm output or dedicated sounder channel. No battery is required on this model, unlike the optional 9V battery-powered variants.
