Overview
The STI-6529 is a large hinged protective cover molded from tough polycarbonate designed to shield biometric readers, keypads, and push-button access control hardware from vandalism, environmental damage, ice accumulation, and accidental impact. The clear construction maintains full visibility of the protected reader while the stainless steel torsion spring hinge keeps the cover closed — solving the problem of exposed credentials and buttons in high-traffic or outdoor installations where physical protection and operational clarity are both required.
Compatibility
This cover fits STI biometric readers, keypad entry systems, and fingerprint reader hardware in outdoor and indoor high-traffic environments. It is compatible with smaller-sized push buttons, electrical outlets, volume controls, lighting controls, and shutdown switches. Mounting hardware and gasket are included; no modification of the protected device is needed for installation.
Installation Notes
The STI-6529 comes complete with mounting screws and a foam gasket for weatherproofing. Installation is straightforward — position the cover over the reader and secure using the provided hardware. The continuous high-strength hinge and torsion spring require no adjustment. Operating temperature range is −40°F to 250°F (−40°C to 121°C), supporting outdoor deployment in cold climates. Replace the gasket after five years of use to maintain environmental sealing. No tools beyond a basic screwdriver are required.
