STI KIT-REV60 Polycarbonate Breather Vent
Overview
The KIT-REV60 is a polycarbonate breather vent assembly designed to manage condensation and environmental moisture in 9VDC lock and strike systems. It solves a specific problem in access control installations where outdoor or high-humidity mounting locations expose electromechanical hardware to temperature swings and trapped moisture — the two fastest routes to corrosion and false strikes. The transparent polycarbonate construction allows visual inspection of the protected device without removal, and the breather design permits pressure equalization during temperature changes without allowing standing water ingress.
Compatibility
The KIT-REV60 is engineered for door lock and strike assemblies operating at 9VDC. Fits standard lock/strike mounting configurations and integrates with existing access control wiring harnesses. Compatible with HID credential-based lock systems. Mounting frame accepts 7mm masonry drill holes for permanent wall installation on both masonry and composite surfaces.
Installation Notes
Position the frame centrally over the device to be protected and mark the four fixing-hole locations. Use a 7mm masonry drill bit to prepare mounting points. Secure the frame with the provided wall fixings — no torque specification given in evidence, hand-tight to snug is standard practice. Install the weather gasket over the device before securing the frame; for surface-mount configurations, use the included spacer inserts to blank off unused cable entry holes. Select the appropriate cable gasket for your installed wiring system (RJ-45, hardwired, or mixed) before final assembly. Do not overtighten screws — polycarbonate stress-cracks under excessive torque.
