The EF181610-W is a hardened reader window assembly designed to integrate with multi-credential access control deployments. This injection-molded polycarbonate housing (RAL 7035 gray) accommodates dual-credential reader types—HID proximity and NFC/13.56MHz contactless—allowing facilities to support legacy card ecosystems and modern mobile credentials from a single reader aperture. Compatibility
The EF181610-W reader window is rated for up to 7 doors on a single access control panel. It accommodates standard HID proximity readers and 13.56MHz NFC/contactless card readers. Integrators deploying this window should verify panel output capacity and reader protocol support before installation; this housing is designed as a credential-presentation surface and requires a compatible reader module mounted behind it.
Installation Notes
The fiberglass enclosure supports conduit entry via standard knockout holes sized for ½", ¾", 1", 1¼", and 1½" conduit (see datasheet for hole diameter reference). Non-metallic conduit requires no separate grounding bushing; metallic conduit must include a bonding bushing with ground wire lug. Grounding between conduit bonding bushings and equipment ground terminal is mandatory per electrical code. Avoid unnecessary stress on enclosure walls during conduit alignment. The housing generates 44dB(A) during reader operation—acceptable for most office and healthcare environments but worth noting in noise-sensitive zones.
