Overview
The STI EN483612-W2 is a non-metallic fiberglass enclosure purpose-built for outdoor mounting of access control readers, intercoms, power supplies, and supporting electronics. The transparent window allows visual inspection and credential reader positioning without unlatching the door — a practical detail when integrators need to troubleshoot or verify reader alignment from outside. Integrated AC cooling and heating manage temperature swings across seasons, keeping enclosed equipment within operational specs even in harsh climates. Non-metallic construction (thermoset polyester reinforced with fiberglass) means no corrosion, no rust staining, and no chemical degradation from salt spray or industrial atmospheres.
Compatibility
This enclosure is a host platform for standard security and networking hardware: outdoor access control readers, credential processors, PoE switches, power distribution modules, intercom electronics, and associated terminal-block wiring. Interior volume supports DIN-rail mount configurations. The unit fits cutout-installation scenarios typical of wall-mounted or pole-mounted outdoor control points — loading dock entries, parking gates, building perimeter access doors. Compatible with any reader technology that fits the internal envelope and accepts 12VDC or 24VDC supply from a separate power module inside the enclosure.
Installation Notes
Enclosure includes integrated mounting feet and accepts cutout-based installation. Polyurethane gasket sealing minimizes water intrusion at door and cable entry points. Stainless steel hinge hardware resists corrosion. Factory-installed transparent window is sealed and integral — do not attempt field replacement. AC/heating options are field-configurable; consult the A/C & Heater Install documentation for electrical requirements and thermostat setup. Rounded edges and smooth body reduce accidental injury during installation or maintenance. UV-reinforced material requires no additional weatherproofing.
