Standing 64 inches tall and engineered for a 42-inch finished height at the handset or panel, the VE-GNP-SS pairs with Viking backboxes to create a complete, vandal-resistant outdoor station without field fabrication. The stainless steel construction handles UV exposure and precipitation without the corrosion risk of painted cold-rolled steel alternatives.

Compatibility

The VE-GNP-SS is designed specifically for use with the following Viking backbox families: Viking Electronics VE-5×5, VE-6×7, and VE-5×10 surface-mount backboxes. These are the only verified-compatible enclosures from the manufacturer documentation — do not assume fitment with other Viking or third-party backboxes. If your deployment uses the VE-5×5 enclosure as part of a panel kit, that kit includes a VE-5×5-SS surface mount box. For outdoor intercom deployments requiring in-ground installation rather than surface mount, evaluate the VE-GNP-IG variant, which uses a wet-cement in-ground mount and cold rolled steel construction instead.

The panel kit ships at 2.0 lb (0.91 kg) and the surface mount box at 1.0 lb (0.45 kg) — factor both into your anchor load calculation. Panel and panel kit components use 0.081-inch thick aluminum with UV stable clear gloss powder coat; the surface mount box uses 0.062-inch thick CRS with UV stable black fine texture powder coat. Both finishes are rated for outdoor UV exposure without fading or chalking under normal installation conditions. Pair with a Viking intercom power supply and wiring per the VE-Series manual for a compliant installation.
