Overview
The UCM1 is a universal camera mounting adapter that lets you install dome and turret cameras directly into standard electrical boxes—a common requirement in retrofit installations and hardwired ceiling/wall runs. Rather than drilling into drywall or running separate mounting hardware, you secure the camera base to an existing 3.5" or 4" round, octagonal, or single-gang electrical box. This keeps wiring bundled where power already lives and saves installation time on congested builds. The mount accepts camera bases up to 4.75" diameter, covering most small-to-mid-size dome and turret models in commercial surveillance deployments.
Compatibility
The UCM1 works with cameras designed for 4.75" base footprints or smaller—this includes compact domes and turrets from most mainstream brands. It mounts to three box types: standard 3.5" and 4" round boxes, 4" octagonal boxes, and single-gang rectangular boxes. Before purchase, verify your camera's base diameter and your existing box dimensions. The mounting plate threads accept standard camera mounting screws, so any camera with a threaded base will work; the constraint is the base size, not the brand.
Installation Notes
The kit includes a camera mounting plate, mounting bracket, and three sets of screws (#8 x 5/8", #6 x 1/2", #8 x 3/8") to handle different box thicknesses and camera screw specifications. Attachment is mechanical—simply bolt the mounting bracket to the electrical box using the appropriate screws, then drill or screw the camera base directly into the mounting plate. The cable hole can be drilled to any diameter you need for your connector (RJ-45, coax, or power lead). UL-listed construction means it meets electrical safety standards for ceiling and wall mounting. No specialized tools required beyond a drill and basic screwdrivers.
