Speco Technologies N16WNRN8TB 16-Channel Wall-Mount NVR
Overview
The N16WNRN8TB is a 16-channel network video recorder purpose-built for wall-mount installations in security control rooms and compact spaces where rack real estate is unavailable. With 8TB of built-in storage and 16 integrated PoE ports, this unit eliminates the need for separate PoE switches in smaller deployments and handles simultaneous 8MP (4K) recording at 30 fps across all channels. H.265 compression delivers roughly 2× the storage efficiency of H.264—a meaningful difference when running 24/7 recording on all 16 channels at high resolution. The wall-mount form factor integrates quickly into existing control room layouts without requiring rack rail space or floor footprint.
Compatibility
The N16WNRN8TB works with any ONVIF-compliant IP camera, including the full Speco IP camera lineup—EZ cameras with quick discovery and auto-install via the unit's EZ Wizards. It supports mixed-vendor architectures, allowing you to pair Speco, Axis, Hikvision, or other standard IP cameras without firmware complications. The 16 integrated PoE ports (802.3af) power cameras drawing under 13W each; if you need higher PoE Class devices (25W+), those cameras require external PoE injectors or separate PoE switches. Real-time remote access, playback, and configuration work via mobile app or desktop VMS—standard ONVIF protocol ensures compatibility with enterprise video management platforms and third-party recording systems.
Installation Notes
The N16WNRN8TB has two SATA ports, supporting up to 28TB total (14TB per drive). Operating temperature range is −10°C to +50°C (−4°F to +122°F)—standard indoor control room conditions. Wall mounting requires standard vertical clearance and stable power delivery; no special electrical hardening is needed beyond typical UPS protection for critical recording. Two-way audio via RCA input allows speaker-equipped installations for interactive response scenarios. Line-crossing and object detection analytics run at the edge, reducing bandwidth on remote viewing links.
