The N16WNU8TB is a 16-channel network video recorder with 8TB onboard storage, designed for wall-mounted deployment in small-to-medium commercial surveillance installations. This unit consolidates 16 IP camera streams into a compact, fixed footprint — ideal for retail, warehousing, and office environments where rack space is unavailable or undesirable. The 8TB capacity supports 24/7 recording across all 16 channels at standard bitrates without requiring external NAS or SAN infrastructure.
Compatibility
The N16WNU8TB accepts any ONVIF-compliant IP camera on the same network segment. Speco IP camera lines (such as 2MP, 4MP, and 5MP bullet, dome, and turret models) integrate directly via RTSP/ONVIF discovery. The recorder also supports third-party cameras from Axis, Hikvision, Dahua, and other mainstream vendors that adhere to ONVIF Profile S or Profile T standards. Network provisioning requires a standard Ethernet switch with sufficient throughput — 16 concurrent 4MP streams at 30 fps demand roughly 150–200 Mbps of sustained bandwidth depending on compression settings.
Installation Notes
Wall mounting requires a standard VESA-compatible bracket (not included in base package) and appropriate anchors for your wall surface (drywall, concrete, or steel stud). Ensure 12 VDC power supply is routed through a UPS if continuity is required during mains loss. Network connectivity uses standard RJ-45 Ethernet; PoE delivery to the recorder itself is not typical — cameras are powered separately via PoE injectors or PoE switches. Confirm your network switch provides sufficient uplink bandwidth before commissioning all 16 channels simultaneously. Heat dissipation is passive; ensure adequate ventilation (minimum 2–3 inches clearance on rear and sides).
