Overview
The N16WNRN4TB is a 16-channel wall-mount network video recorder built for compact deployments where NDAA compliance and integrated PoE are non-negotiable. It handles up to 8MP (4K) cameras at 30 fps per channel, making it suitable for government, education, and regulated commercial sites requiring federal procurement eligibility. The 4TB factory-installed storage covers roughly 14–30 days of continuous 8MP recording (depending on scene complexity and compression efficiency), and the dual SATA ports allow expansion to 32TB total if longer retention is needed. Built-in 16 PoE ports eliminate the need for external PoE switches on smaller deployments, cutting installation complexity and cost.
Compatibility
The N16WNRN4TB operates with standard ONVIF IP cameras and the full Speco camera lineup, including 8MP fixed and varifocal models. It supports H.265 and H.264 streams simultaneously, so mixed-codec camera fleets work without transcoding overhead. Integration with third-party VMS platforms (Milestone, Genetec, axis.com derivatives) is possible via ONVIF Profile S, though Speco's own 16-channel NVRs are optimized for Speco SecureGuard dashboard and cloud P2P access. Compatible with optional 5-port and 10-port managed switches if you need to extend beyond the 16 integrated PoE ports or require SFP uplink redundancy.
Installation Notes
Wall-mount bracket and rack ears are included for the N16WNRN4TB. Operating temperature range is 14°F to 122°F (−10°C to 50°C), so it suits indoor control rooms but not unheated outdoor enclosures. The unit accepts one RCA audio input for synchronized recording; no built-in microphone. Power is AC-only (no DC backup option), so UPS integration is critical for sites requiring uninterrupted recording during mains failure. Dual SATA ports accept 3.5-inch drives up to 16TB each; hot-swap capability is not built-in, so storage upgrades require downtime.
