Description

Middle Atlantic 5-8 Knock Down 8SP

Overview

The Middle Atlantic 5-8 is an 8-rack-unit (RU) knockdown frame designed for open-architecture installations where ease of access and workability are paramount. This frame provides a stable, 19-inch wide mounting platform for AV, IT, or security equipment, supporting up to 400 lbs. Its open design simplifies cable management and component installation, making it ideal for staging, integration labs, or environments where equipment needs frequent access.

Compatibility

This frame is configured as a frame-only unit, utilizing standard 10-32 rack rail screws for mounting equipment. It is designed to accept standard 19-inch rack-mountable equipment. The knockdown design allows for assembly to fit specific depth requirements, accommodating equipment up to 20 inches deep. It is gangable, allowing multiple units to be connected side-by-side for expanded capacity.

Installation Notes

The frame supports a UL load capacity of 400 lbs, ensuring robust support for installed components. Its construction is TAA compliant and UL Listed, meeting federal operational requirements for certain government and educational deployments. The unit is manufactured in the USA. While the frame itself is lightweight at 24 lbs, its shipping weight is 28.82 lbs due to packaging and protective materials. Usable height is 14 inches, and usable depth is 20 inches.
