Overview
The Middle Atlantic 2-10 is a 10-rack-unit sloped desktop enclosure — the Slim 2 Series turret configuration — built for equipment rooms, control desks, and security operations centers where rack gear needs to sit on a work surface rather than bolt into a floor-standing frame. At 20.5 in wide, 18 in deep, and 19.38 in tall, the 2-10 fits comfortably on a standard AV or security operations desk. The steel frame carries a black wood grain melamine finish that blends into professional environments. Usable interior depth is 15.95 in and usable height is 17.5 in — sufficient for most 1U and 2U NVRs, managed PoE switches, and access control panels. 10-32 threaded rack rails accept standard rack hardware without cage nuts. TAA-compliant and assembled in the USA, the 2-10 qualifies for federal and government procurement. At 30 lbs product weight (40.35 lbs shipping), it is stable on a desk under normal AV and security loads. The enclosure is not gangable, so installations requiring wider combined frames will need separate units.
Compatibility
Accepts any standard 19 in (EIA-310) rack equipment up to 10U — including network video recorders, managed PoE switches, patch panels, UPS units, and access control head-end equipment from Middle Atlantic and other manufacturers. The 10-32 rail threading is the most common rack standard; equipment shipped with 10-32 screws mounts directly. Usable depth of 15.95 in accommodates the majority of 1U security appliances — verify chassis depth before ordering for deeper server-class gear. Compatible with standard rack accessories including brush panels, blanks, and cable management. The non-gangable design means this unit stands alone; it does not link to adjacent 2-Series frames.
Installation Notes
Desktop placement only — this rack is not designed for wall, ceiling, or floor-standing installation. The sloped turret angle is fixed by the Slim 2 frame geometry. Confirm desk or work-surface load capacity before installation: the unit ships at 40.35 lbs and will increase in weight once equipment is installed. 10-32 rack screws are the correct hardware; do not substitute M6 or 12-24 fasteners. The knockdown construction means the frame ships flat and is assembled on-site — factor assembly time into installation schedules.
