Description

Allied Telesis AT-MMC10GSP/SP-960 SFP+ to SFP+ 10G Mini Media Converter

Overview

The Allied Telesis AT-MMC10GSP/SP-960 is a 10 Gigabit mini media converter that bridges two SFP+ ports, letting you interconnect different fiber types or extend a 10GbE segment without deploying a full managed switch. The bundled universal power supply unit means the converter ships ready to install — no hunting for a compatible PSU separately. TAA compliance makes this unit eligible for U.S. federal procurement and deployments requiring Trade Agreements Act conformance. This model fits neatly into network edge or wiring-closet environments where you need a single-purpose, low-footprint 10G conversion point on network infrastructure runs.

Compatibility

The AT-MMC10GSP/SP-960 accepts any SFP+ transceiver in each of its two slots, so fiber type and wavelength are determined by the modules you populate — not locked to the chassis. It is compatible with Allied Telesis SFP+ transceivers across the AT-SP10 series (including SR, LR, ER, and BiDi variants) and will interoperate with third-party SFP+ modules that conform to the SFF-8431 MSA standard. The unit integrates into existing fiber media converter deployments alongside Allied Telesis switches and routers that carry SFP+ uplink ports. It is not a managed device and carries no VLAN or QoS configuration — if layer-2 management is required, a managed 10G switch is the correct path instead.

Installation Notes

Power the unit via the included universal PSU — verify local mains voltage falls within the PSU's rated input range before connecting. SFP+ modules are not included; order the appropriate AT-SP10 series transceivers separately based on fiber type and link distance. Slot both SFP+ modules before powering on to confirm link-integrity LEDs illuminate on both ports. The compact form factor supports desktop or shelf mounting; no rack ears are included in this configuration. TAA-compliant procurement documentation should be retained for federal contract records.
