Description

SDC HDB2V Glass Door Armature Mounting Kit

Overview

The SDC HDB2V is an aluminum armature mounting kit designed to secure electromagnetic strikes and control hardware on glass door installations. Built for dual-door configurations, it fastens directly to frameless or framed glass doors where standard wood-frame mounting is not an option. Use this when you need to deploy access control hardware on 1512, 1572, or 1582 series strikes and cannot drill or anchor into the door itself—the HDB2V relocates the mounting footprint to the door frame or adjacent structure, keeping the strike mechanically secure and aligned.

Compatibility

The HDB2V integrates with SDC 1512, 1572, and 1582 series strikes. Confirm your existing strike model before ordering; this kit is a mounting solution only and does not include the strike itself. Suitable for both retrofit and new construction glass door installs where surface mounting or frame-based fastening is required.

Installation Notes

Aluminum construction resists corrosion in indoor and light-duty outdoor environments. Verify that your door frame or mounting surface can support the combined weight of the strike and load from door pressure. Hardware mounting hardware is included; use appropriate fasteners (bolts or screws) rated for your specific door frame material. Do not overtighten fasteners, as this can crack glass or distort the mounting bracket. Allow clearance for strike solenoid operation and latch retraction—test strike function before final installation.
