Overview

The Vertiv VP5N30AV is a 30A, 208V switched rack power distribution unit designed for data center and IT closet deployments requiring granular control over individual outlet power. It provides 4.9kW of capacity at 208V, distributed across 36 combination C13/C19 outlets. The unit features bottom front power entry with a NEMA L6-30P twist-lock plug, ensuring secure connection. Its switched functionality allows remote power cycling of connected equipment, which is critical for managing server reboots, troubleshooting, and optimizing power usage in dense IT environments. The VP5N30AV model is specifically designed for vertical rack mounting.

The combination C13/C19 outlets accommodate a wide range of IT equipment power cords, from standard servers and network switches to higher-draw devices. Installation Notes

The unit ships with a 10ft (3m) power cable. Vertical mounting requires sufficient clearance within the rack. The power cable wire gauge is specified as 45726, indicating suitability for the 30A current draw. Ensure the circuit breaker feeding the NEMA L6-30P receptacle is rated appropriately and that the rack's power infrastructure can support the PDU's 4.9kW load capacity at 208V. The PDU itself has 36 LED indicators for status monitoring.
