ATEN EA1442 Reed Door Sensor
Overview
The ATEN EA1442 is a magnetic reed switch designed to monitor the open or closed state of enclosures, such as PDU cabinets or server racks. It integrates with compatible ATEN PDUs to provide real-time alerts on unauthorized access or environmental changes, crucial for maintaining physical security and operational integrity in data centers and IT closets. The EA1442's compact design allows for discreet installation without impeding equipment access.
Compatibility
This reed sensor is designed to interface with specific ATEN intelligent Power Distribution Units (PDUs) that support environmental monitoring accessories. Ensure your ATEN PDU model lists the EA1442 or a similar reed switch as a compatible accessory for environmental sensing capabilities. It is not a standalone device and requires a compatible PDU to function.
Installation Notes
The EA1442 requires a minimum sense gap of 16 mm to reliably detect the magnetic field change when the door is opened or closed. The switch is rated for a maximum of 150 VDC breakdown voltage and has an insulation resistance of at least 100 Mohm, suitable for low-voltage signaling circuits. Its operating temperature range is -20°C to 60°C, with humidity tolerance up to 95% RH at 80°C, fitting most standard IT environments. The switch is rated for 5x107 cycles at 12V, 50mA, ensuring long-term reliability.
